Mabel Greer's Toyshop, founded by Clive Bayley and Bob Hagger in 1966, members included guitarist Peter Banks bassist Chris Squire vocalist Jon Anderson keyboard player Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford in their lineup. The band changed their name to YES in August 1968.
In their prior short lifetime from 1966 to 1968 the band did not release any singles or albums, but did manage to record a session for the BBC radio program Night Ride hosted by John Peel. Four of these eventually showed up on some compilation of British psychedelic rarities. Two songs, Beyond and Before and Sweetness made it to the first Yes album.
Mabel Greer's Toyshop reformed in 2014 after Bayley met Hagger again after 45 years, and now includes ex-Mabel and YES member Tony Kaye, YES bass player Billy Sherwood and jazz-fusion bass player Hugo Barré. The band released a new album on March 9, 2015, entitled "New Way Of Life".
